Mosquito Control

Submitted by Sally Hickman

Want a much more effective and cheaper way to control mosquitoes, which is better for our environment? Control
them in the larval stage.

Get a bucket of water, put in a handful of straw or hay and let it ferment for a couple of days. Add Mosquito Dunks
available at any hardware store. Adult mosquitoes will want to lay their eggs in this irresistible brew. Or add the dunks to
your rain barrels or standing water. Dunks are not toxic to dogs or dragonflies.

This is much more effective than spraying a natural toxic chemical which kills all insects! Insects are an important
food source for our birds, fish and wildlife.
