About Ted –
I am a freelance writer, book author, and advocate for protecting and preserving our inland lakes. Growing up in the Lake Michigan community of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, I acquired a fascination with water resources. Family vacations in the Northwoods instilled a love for the abundance and diversity of lakes in my home state and elsewhere. For the past decade I have devoted my time to helping others better understand and appreciate the lakes they love, and to promoting proper care and respect for these irreplaceable treasures.
My credentials:
- Author of three books about lakes and lake science
- President, Oneida County Lakes and Rivers Association
- Weekly column, “The Lake Where You Live,” Lakeland Times, Minocqua, WI
- Member, Wisconsin Lakes (statewide lake association)
- Graduate, Wisconsin Lake Leaders Institute (Crew 11)
- Education Coordinator, Friends of Birch Lake
- Artist (Writer) in Residence, Trout Lake Research Station, Boulder Junction, WI
My wife Noelle and I live on Birch Lake in Oneida County, in the heart of Wisconsin’s lake country, with our springer spaniel, Bernie.
